M:OED is looking for political support!

Do you want to commit to positive change at the local level?

Do you want to collaborate with a wide range of parties and social organizations in the city?

Do you think that political choices should be made on the basis of the most current knowledge available in the city?

Do you want to be part of a growing movement that strives for an Open, Honest, and Democratic Maastricht?

In short; can you ask critical questions, but also come up with creative solutions?

M:OED is looking for citizens-councilors and a fraction-officer who will support the work of our council members. As a group, we work together in the center of democracy in Maastricht and as a movement in the city, we create a courageous vision for the future.

You are interested in politics in Maastricht and underline the M:OED vision to start changing the city for the better. As part of the group, you contribute to the views of M:OED and its implementation, so you have to have a feeling of what is going on in the city!

In terms of content, you contribute wherever necessary on all current issues, from sport and health to housing and from entrepreneurship to transparency in the municipality. You do not have to be an expert in these areas, but you should be able to adapt and become familiar with a subject quickly.

The most important tasks are the preparation of group meetings, taking notes, and keeping an overview of current affairs in the council and in the city. Excellent command of the Dutch language is required for this. Because we have a lot of contact with the international community, it is also useful if you speak English.

We do not only work at the town hall, much of the group work is out on the streets, in the neighborhoods at events, and of course through social media. It is an advantage if you have experience with this.
